What We Water is a student-led collective that advocates for the complete wellness of and reproductive justice for Black and brown women. Organized by Makenna Lindsay and Sofia Dean, Sociology graduates of American University, this platform strives to create a safe, inclusive space that supports the bodily autonomy and protection of marginalized women of color. What We Water produces and organizes informative and creative content featuring themes such as birth work and midwifery, sex work, Black and brown maternal health, sex education, resources for at risk women (those incarcerated, in the foster care system, unhoused communities, etc) and mental health. Created with passion, love, and connection in mind, we welcome you to What We Water.

“Every woman I have ever loved has left her print upon me, where I loved some invaluable piece of myself apart from me — so different that I had to stretch and grow in order to recognize her. And in that growing, we came to separation, that place where work begins.” - Audre Lorde
